Welcome to the website for Bujinkan Newbury Dojo, we are based in the Newbury and Thatcham area of West Berkshire. We have students from not only West Berkshire but from surrounding counties as well. We teach Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, skills employed by Japans samurai and ninja. We have been teaching in the area since 2004.



Unlike the popularised film and TV image of ninja those involved in using these skills were more interested in self-preservation against the odds. It emphasises avoidance and escape from conflict. This makes it ideal for childrens self-defence as well as for adults interested in an efficient form of defence.

We are now training outdoors on Mondays at Snelsmore Common.
Wednesdays are still at the Newbury Judo Club.

Every year a training theme is set by Soke Hatsumi.
The theme for 2012 is 'Ken' where we will look at sword to include all types.
It is also 'Kaname' which can be translated as the essential point, or a pivot.
More will be posted as and when it emerges.
